Founder and vision bearer of Pneuma Word Ministries International, Prophet Brian Kagyezi has urged Christians to prioritize evangelism, adding that the Great Commission is to be loved and advocated for by all who love what Jesus loves.
Speaking during a live talk show on Lighthouse Television Uganda, 23 October, Prophet Kagyezi emphasized that Christians are in ministry to learn, grow and then, be dispatched into the world.
“If you don’t preach, God will use the stones,” he stated. “The bible says, ‘It is not the will of God that any should perish’ (2 Peter 3:8-10). Meaning, God desires that all men should be saved.”
Prophet Brian Kagyezi was in company with Ms Joanita Nansamba, a pastor at Pneuma Word Ministries.
They urged that many believers today are taking the mercy and grace of God in vain – and are using it as an excuse not to evangelize.
“Every time you take God’s grace for granted, you lose the essence of Christ,” Pastor Joanita Nansamba said.
“Grace is supposed to be used as a catalyst to do ministry. Unfortunately, it’s being used as an excuse to not do ministry. Instead of you tapping into it so that you do the work of God faster, brighter and better, many are using it as an excuse. How are you supposed to grow as a minister, when you are not getting the very weapon that should help you?,” Joanita wondered.
Adding: “Ministry is not secondary to work – or anything else. It is the primary thing because that is the reason why you live. His life is flowing through our veins for us to preach His name.”
She pointed out that 2 Corinthians 12:9 is one of the most misused scriptures in the bible.
It says, ‘And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.’
“If God has given us His grace, and He says that it is sufficient for us, He’s trying to say, He is sufficient for us in our infirmities. Where our strength would die, and where we would not have power, He has supplied power for us,” Prophet Brian Kagyezi said.
‘Ministry is a matter of life and death’
“I feel ministry is watered down by so many people. They serve when they feel like doing so. But ministry is a matter of life and death. Why? Because it involves people and everything that involves the people of God is a matter of life and death. When we choose to take up the calling, we’ve got to understand the sacrifice that is attached to ministry,” Pastor Joanita Nansamba said,
Joanita stated that it is only through the power of Christ that one is able to effectively minister.
“If in our ministry, we are not dying to certain things, and we are not resurrecting issues that change things, than there are things we are missing out. I always say that it’s better to stop and start again, that to continue in something you know is wrong,” she said.
“We should be in a place where we understand that it is not about man, and we are not serving man. When involved in ministry, if you’re not doing it because God sent you, then you’re going to fail, because when God sends you, He gives you the ability to accomplish that which you are supposed to do,” she continued.
“When you decide to serve and do ministry, you have got to do it for Christ. Ministry is about doing what Christ tells you to do, and there is no in-between,” he added.
