USA – An aviation ministry located in Texas, USA is set to become to the world’s first Christian airline.
According to CBN News, the ministry known as Judah 1 received a go head from Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a national authority with powers to regulate all aspects of civil aviation, to switch from a private operator to becoming its own airline.
The ministry currently serves Christians traveling around the world and domestically for mission trips and religious tours.
“The Lord spoke to me about using my passion for aviation – specifically large aircraft, I saw rows and rows of aircraft, full of food and supplies, lines of them,” Everett Aaron, founder and CEO of Judah 1, told media reporters in Texas.
The airline will be based at North Texas Regional Airport, which is undergoing an upgrade so it can provide the necessary safety and security requirements.
Judah 1 will operate a 27 year-old McDonnell Douglas MD-80 that can carry 140 passengers.
Aaron told media Christians traveling on mission trips tend to lose their cargo and said it’s one of the burdens of missionaries traveling with secular airlines that Judah 1 hopes to eliminate.
The Airline promised its airfares will be competitive, with the aim to save missionaries millions of dollars.
“Judah 1 will be working with ministries such as Kingdom Living Ministries to plan mission trips to take the love of Jesus to areas such as the unreached mountain villages of Kisumu – Kenta,” The ministry’s website explains.
“Our teams will evangelize the small villages that populate the mountain areas of the region as well as provide food and medical clinics,” it adds.
