Mourners at  the funeral service  of  fallen General Court Martial Chairman Maj Gen. Levi Karuhanga were left without answers after the current Minister of Justice & Constitutional Affairs’ eulogize to the deceased.

The mourners were mostly silent during his speech, a trickle of a fountain was the only sound between  breath pauses.

Gen Kahinda Otafiire, who came in right after the state Minister for Defense Jeje Odongo said that he waited for Jesus’ coming, and got tired.

“When they said Jesus is coming, I waited and got tired of waiting. But if I were Jesus, I would not come back at this time when people are being beaten with sticks on the streets. What would I be coming to do? To receive more beatings?” The General stated.

About going to Church, he said, “Why should I again go and disturb Him when He already knows me too well?”

According to the minister in charge of the presidency Frank Tumwebaze, Maj Gen Karuhanga died shortly after he returned from India where he had been taken for treatment.

He was appointed Chairman of the court martial in June 2014, replacing Brig Moses Ddiba Ssentongo.

Tumwebaze described the late Karuhanga as a neighbor and friend.

One of the reasons we struggle so much with waiting is because, from our perspective, nothing is happening. We’re simply standing still, and we don’t understand why this could possibly be necessary or useful. But waiting should not be a passive experience; it should be an active one, full of intentionality and purpose.

We may not know when God will move, but we can trust that He will [Isaiah 9:2].

Let the atmosphere of your waiting shift from a place of frustration and despair to a place of hope. God is inviting you into daily partnership with Him, and He will not leave you behind. In His perfect time, light will break into the darkness, and clarity will come.
