Popular gospel music group, the Watoto Children’s Choir on 18 March, 2020 canceled its upcoming shows in Canada due to public health concerns stemming from coronavirus – also known as COVID-19.
In a statement, the Watoto Canada leadership said “we believe this is the correct course [of] action for this situation, both for the safety of the children and those hosting and attending the concerts.”
Thousands of people across the globe have been diagnosed with the deadly coronavirus for several months now.
As the outbreak continues, reports show that organizers of large public gatherings (such as music festivals and tours) are being forced to assess whether or not to hold their scheduled events as planned.
Following the tour cancellation, the Watoto Children’s choir will be returning home as soon as possible to be with their Watoto family in Uganda.
“Please pray for safe and uninterrupted travel for our children and adults,” Watoto Canada leadership urged Christians.
