‘War Room’ actress Karen Abercrombie poured her heart out while revealing the transformational role prayer plays in a Christian’s life, from career to ministry and relationships, during a conference at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala on Sunday.
Organised under the theme ‘How to fight the good fight,’ Ms Abercrombie expressed confidence in what a renewed emphasis on prayer could mean for families, communities and the church in Uganda.
He said there are no issues in our daily life, or nation that prayer cannot address if we learn to approach God the right way and ask in faith.
Karen Abercrombie, an independent film producer who doubles as a story teller noted that everything can change in someone’s life when they genuinely connect with God and begin to encounter Him personally through prayer.
The conference was spearheaded by Mr Mark Kigozi, a pastoral team leader at Real Life Family Church, together with Metarmophosis International Limited. It was a great success, they said.
“Prayer moves mountains. Prayer raises the dead. Prayer restores, refreshes and renews. We pray to a God unto whom all things are possible, Jehovah Jireh, the great provider,” Karen Abercrombie encouraged attendants.
“God takes great joy in using any willing vessel to bring glory to His Kingdom,” she said. “God is who He says He is, and with that knowledge, you have a better understanding of who you are, because your true identity is in Christ.”
Karen Abercrombie used her speech to call for repentance and highlight the importance of forgiveness.
Through Joshua 2:1-24, Karen introduced the congregation to Rahab, the harlot, who lived in Jericho in the Promised Land and assisted the Israelites in capturing the city by betraying her people.
Ms Abercrombie used the passage to share how the grace of God can save even the worst of sinners and bring them into an abundant life in Christ Jesus.
“Sometimes, especially women, we are hard on our selves, because the world is always telling us we are not good enough, we are not smart and pretty enough. The world tells us we have to do this to be that. God always sees you the way he saw you from the foundations of the earth,” she said.
