UG Christian News Correspondent at Namugongo Martyrs’ shine ahead of Saturday’s prayers.
Preparations are still ongoing as more pilgrims flock the venue amid heavy security deployment that includes plain-cloth officers.
On arrival, our reporter noted that all major roads to this venue have been sealed starting from Kyaliwajjala trading center – no private vehicles, taxis and motorcycles allowed.
From that point, one will have to use the pedestrian walk way separated by barriers where traders are laid on either side.
The area designated for Prayers is already full, unoccupied sections carry reservation cards that identify dignitaries expected tomorrow.
Christians seen coming through are stationed at a distance for which only screen projectors will – if availed – enable them follow the proceedings.
