Pastors from USA and Uganda are set for a conference in Mbarara aimed at streamlining a church leader’s position on feeding and tending the flock under their care.
Hosted by Bishop Nathan Ibrahim of Daystar Cathedral, the conference draws its theme from John 21:17 which highlights the totality of the task Jesus Christ set before Peter, and all pastoral ministers.
The keynote speakers expected include; Apostle Alex Mitala, Bishop David Livingstone Kiganda, Bishop Steven Senfuma, Bishop Patrick Makumbi, Bishop Don Tumusime, Bishop Henry Minani – and from USA, Jim Holcomb, senior pastor of Belden Baptist Church, Pr Byron Pickering of First Baptist Church Sulligent, Alabama, Pastor Brian Daniels and many more.
“I have had the privilege of serving as Senior Pastor since February, 2006. The greatest joy I have is proclaiming the deep riches of the inspired Word of God and witnessing the impact that has on those who apply the eternal truths to their lives,” Pastor Jim Holcomb says.
“Ever wonder why so many churches seem to never really grow or become stagnant? It’s because the Church has gotten away from how Jesus set His Church in motion. Jesus said in Matthew 28:19,” he continues.
“The instruction was not a suggestion, it was a command! Yet, many believers have never shared their faith or made disciples out of their lack of being equipped. In the plan that Jesus has for His followers, each believer is to BE both a disciple and a disciplers,” he adds.
The conference will commence 30th April and end May 4th, this year, and is expected to draw multitudes, especially from the western region of Uganda.
“For the pastor, a shepherd’s heart is not an option it is mandatory. It is my personal conviction that when God calls a man to pastor His people, He gives him a shepherd’s heart. Indeed, that is the outstanding mark of a Spirit-gifted, God-ordained and called pastor,” Alex Mitala remarked in one of his recent shows on LTV.
Adding, “A man ascending to the pastorate without a shepherd’s heart can do much harm to the flock of God even if unintentional.”
