As all Christians charge up with anticipation to witness a concert that is expected to be the first of its kind in Uganda, Ug Christian News has learnt that the Zambian guests will do much more than what was reported earlier.
During an interview with NTV’s David Ogutu, Ikiriza Kiremire Enock, team leader of The Usual Suspects, one of the event key sponsors says that the dynamic, talented and celebrated artists will additionally meet and share their experience with Uganda’s young generation.
The whole of LotaHouse will before stepping on the stage for a full experience meet secondary and university students in a conference dubbed Born free, that will take place on 10th-12th August 2016 at covenant nations church-luzira.
“Right now we have a new generation coming up that has a lot of freedom. There are kids that will wake up in the morning – while in holidays – spend their entire time at garden City…and that is their plot for the day,” Enock further said “Back in the days it was a big deal for you to have gone to Makerere University for a degree, now we have people with free education that are dropping out of school,”
Based at Lusaka, Zambia, Lota House confirmed their visit to Uganda last month. It is home to artists Pompi, Abel Chungu, Mag44, Flow1ne and Crazy FisH.
Alongside Lilly Million from South Africa, the Born Free Concert will light off with Uganda’s gospel artists who include Ruyonga, Coopy Bly, Cooper & GWAy and Kimera come 12th, August 2016 at Kati Kati grounds Lugogo, Kampala.
Enock further revealed that during the rush hour bananza, where ordinary tickets were up for grabs at Half Price ( Aug 5), more than 600 tickets were sold in one hour.
The Usual Suspects are the same heads behind Power FM’s PHAT Fest 2009, 2010, 2011. Myko Ouma Season 1, Tamba Live, Olive Awards 2011, Power FM present Martin Ssekku, Mac Elvis and Coopy Bly.
