The Parliament of Uganda is set to host the 21st National Prayer Breakfast under the theme ‘The Power of Character in Leadership’ inspired by Titus 2:7-8.
The above scripture says; In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
Members of Parliament led by the Chairperson of the National Prayer Breakfast Fellowship Mr. David Bahati told journalists the event will be held 8 October 2019 at the Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala ahead of the 57th Independence celebrations.
Mr Bahati, who is also Minister of State for Planning said the Prayer Breakfast seeks to among others remind legislators and leaders in the country, of their role in making laws, policies and decisions that honor God and align with His will and commands.
“It is also to give our nation that spiritual strength, to renew and strengthen those bonds of brotherhood with the faithful across our country and around the world,” he said.
Bahati urged that the event brings together people from all faiths and political parties, high profile representatives from all branches of government, members of the diplomatic corps, the business community, national and international guests.
His Excellency The President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to grace the event.
The guest speaker will be American Pastor Johnny Enlow, an international speakers and author of ‘The Seven Mountain Prophecy.’
As one focused on the reformation of the 7 primary areas of culture, he is deemed as a spiritual mentor to many in Media, Arts and Entertainment, Government, Family, Religion, Economy, and Education.
Popular Uganda Cranes Captain Denis Onyango will give a testimony of his life success at the event.
Mr. Silas Aogan, the Kumi Municipality member of Parliament told media that the breakfast is an important occasion to “awaken the generation to the realities of God and urged Ugandans to take part in the prayer to petition God to provide a lasting solution to problems like the kidnaps and murders across the country.”
