While every day is not filled with rainbows and sunshine, much of our life is showered with the blessings and promises found in God’s Word. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory… forever and ever. Amen.” — Ephesians 3:20-21
The word “awesome” is over-used in the English language, but we do serve an awesome God! While there will be days when each of us faces seemingly insurmountable odds, we can rest on the promise that we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus,… and great things are on the way!
God wants to give us a life far beyond our wildest dreams. That is how much He longs to bless us! Have you been struggling? Are you currently facing overwhelming adversity? Maybe it’s in your health, relationships, or finances. I want to encourage you today, that even if your current circumstances are unbearable, God will use the storms in your life to teach you and lead you to a place of victory.
Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us to, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
Let me ask you a question. Do you trust God?
Do you believe that He can take your broken pieces and make them something beautiful? Do you have the kind of faith that can weather any storm? Are you confident in God’s promise that “all things work together for good to those who love God” (Romans 8:28)?
When fear knocks at the door, send faith to answer. Faith is the key that unlocks the door to abundant living.
We all need God in our lives. We need His love and direction. He desires to be your constant source of power… your provider of hope… your supplier of unending peace.
Storms can come upon us quickly. Lightning can often strike out unexpectedly from a darkness that was once a clear blue sky. But there is no reason to fear. We just need to look at these storms differently. Have you ever watched lighting stretch across the sky and considered it as a demonstration of God’s awesome power, a display of His might and majesty? He is in absolute control of the universe, and He is working all things together for your good.
The Lord will use the storms in our life to shake us out of our comfort zone and put us into a place where we seek a deeper relationship with Him. He wants us to be completely dependent upon Him for our every need. When you can put your full trust in God, you can easily endure the trials of life and overcome every obstacle knowing that He is in control and will use it for your good and His glory!
Have you ever been in a place that seemed impossible, a situation that appeared hopeless unless God intervened? God will often take you to places where no one else can solve your problem. He will use every experience in your life to bring you to a place of great faith and total dependence upon Him. It is in these places of despair and desperation, that if God doesn’t come through, we won’t make it. It is through the storms that we discover how very good God really is, and how deeply He loves us.
Maybe you’re facing a storm right now. Perhaps you’re battling fear, bitterness, or anger. Maybe you’re in a relationship that is filled with resentment, rejection, and unforgiveness. With each storm comes the opportunity to reach out to God in faith, believing that He is in total control. God doesn’t want us to settle for anything less than the abundant life He promised. He wants us to have the ultimate victory! When He fights our battles, THE GIANTS FALL.
Whatever storm you are facing today, whatever trial…confess it to the Lord. You have to admit your fear and face it before you can conquer it. Then, lay it at the feet of Jesus and know that the victory is yours!
John 15:5 tells us that “apart from Him, we can do nothing.” Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that “His plans for you are good, and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” He did not bring you this far to allow you to fail. Before you were born, He already divinely crafted your destiny…a destiny that would bring Him honor.
Saturate every corner of your life with the Word of God, and when the storms come, …you will be ready.
3 John 1:2 says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” God created you in His image. He created you to be the head and not the tail, to be above only and not beneath. Seek Him first and follow His lead. When you do, He will give you the desires of your heart.
God knows the answer to your problem before you know a problem exists. Praise Him in the middle of your storm. Thank Him for the good things that are on the way. When you do, He will give you a peace that surpasses all understanding, no matter what you are facing.
As a child of the King, victory is already yours. All you have to do is reach out and claim it in Jesus’ mighty name! If a tiny shepherd boy can kill a giant with a slingshot and a single pebble, think of the mighty things God can do through you! The giant that is looming in front of you is only one prayer away from total defeat. You and God together are unstoppable force!
