Speaking during the Global Day of Prayer against coronavirus on Tuesday, Miracle Centre Cathedral – Rubaga lead Pastor Robert Kayanja said the Church will emerge from this pandemic stronger than before.
“We are getting more anointed, when the time comes for the Church to come out, the devil will regret and wish he never stopped the Church in the first place,” he said.
“We are now more anointed, and more determined to pull [the devil’s] kingdom down,” he added.
To help contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, several countries across the globe closed all Church buildings and encouraged the faithful to fellowship together with their families at home, and also maximize digital platforms for prayer activity.
Within the local community, this directive by the Head of State H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni received mixed reactions as some leaders felt keeping churches open is designed to comfort people and prevent fear over the virus.
Pastor Robert likened the nationwide lockdown to the 40 days Jesus withdrew to the wilderness and prayed.
“Send revival and bring back your Church more powerful than ever before,” Pastor Kayanja prayed.
“As Jesus hid himself for 40 days, my Father in these lockdowns, we are seeking you,” he further prayed.
The unprecedented event hinged on 2 Chronicles 7:14 allowed multitudes across the globe who are confined to their homes due to increasing travel and movement restrictions put in place to stop the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) an opportunity to come together through the Word of God.
Pastor Kayanja asked for participants to engage in repentance, spiritual warfare as well as intercession for all of those across the world whose lives have been affected by the crisis caused by the pandemic.
“2 Chronicles 7:14 says, ‘If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.’ There is no land today that does not need healing. There is no person today who does not need forgiveness. There is no nation or government that does not need to see the face of God,” he said.
This development comes as the ministry continues to reach out to those impacted by the nationwide lockdown through the ‘Bucket Project’.
