In what has come to be one of the most successful, yet paid for Christian gatherings this year, Worship Night took place on the 25th and 26th of November in Kampala, Uganda.
Pastor Wilson Bugembe has on Sunday given thanks to God for this success, despite the recent saga at Makerere University, the set venue for the event.
About 3 weeks to the D-day, Makerere University was closed by Uganda’s president Yoweri Museveni.
This was due to weeks of student protests and a months-long strike by lecturers who say the government hasn’t paid their allowances since February.
The presidential directive issued said the university was closed “with immediate effect, until further notice, in order to guarantee safety of persons and property.”
The preacher who also doubles as a gosple singer says that God spoke in the hearts of the people on top of stopping the rain.
Adding; You filled that place with your Glory. Your presence was felt. You chose to be in that place oh Lord. You never allowed us to be ashamed or disappointed. You gave me an opportunity, weak as I am, to lead your saints. Thank you father. For without you we can do Nothing.
This event was graced by Bishop John Francis, founder and senior Pastor of Ruach City Church located in East London & Philadelphia – USA, Icha kavons, an RnB-Afro beat-gospel singer born in Congo but now based in Toronto, Omega Bugembe, the African Children’s Voice Choir, Light the World Church Mass Choir among others.
