Given the current state of affairs in the world, Apostle Stephen Senfuma says many Christians wonder if we living in the last days before the return of Jesus Christ.

Too often though, he continues, preachers have ignored this topic and yet it is a major part of the Christian storyline.

Apostle Senfuma says the very fact that God has revealed so many details about events to come through both testaments of the Bible tells us that it is important.

According to him, at the center of biblical eschatology is the blessed hope of the true Church bring reunited with Jesus Christ.

“Whatsoever is happening is a declaration of what scriptures say, but a glorious end awaits,” he said in a release on Facebook, quoting Ecclesiastes 7:8 and Isaiah 46:10.

“Blessings are not bad and I delight in them, but I get amazed at preachers who don’t talk of end times at pulpits. This has left believers in panic when calamities break out. I urge all preachers to lean and direct all teachings on last days, open the congregation eyes prepare and forewarn them against last-day signs,” he said.

According to the Innerman Ministries vision bearer, by understanding what God says about the end of the world, there can be peace in our hearts given that we know how to respond.

“In the physical world, there are times and seasons. Farmers have seasons for ploughing, sowing and harvesting: so is the spiritual world. Knowing the times and seasons helps us to know what we ought to do when, how and where,” he said.

He made reference to Romans 13:11, which reads: “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.”

“We are in the last days, neither prayers nor sacrifices can alter the arrangements of times. All must happen for scriptures to be fulfilled. The wave and series of things happening now were prophesied by the ancient prophets. It’s just unfolding of scriptures,” he said.

“Nothing catches God by surprise, He is more aware of the situation at hand. Be still, watch and wait on His salvation for He declares an end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10),” he said.

A recent survey by Life Way Research found almost 9 in 10 pastors see at least some current events matching those Jesus said would occur shortly before He returns to Earth.

The survey found that 3 in 4 pastors agree Jesus was referring to current events including the rise of false prophets and false teachings (83%), the love of many believers growing cold (81%), traditional morals becoming less accepted (79%), wars and national conflicts (78%), earthquakes and other natural disasters (76%), and people abandoning their Christian faith (75%).

Around 1 in 10 pastors (11%) said they don’t consider any of these part of the birth pains to which Jesus was referring.

“In this generation, we have a few true disciples of Jesus Christ compared to bread eaters (miracle seekers) simply because most born-again only think of what to get from God. Children of God, this is a time of self sacrifice to God,” Apostle Senfuma said. “This is the time when our focus, goal, aim and attention must be fixed on heavenly things other than earthly gains.”

“In such a time when the whole world is confused, be courageous, don’t fear, worry not for God has got your back. Reach to a level of yearning to meet your creator,” he continued. “Don’t fear the wave, believe in whatever is happening then shift your eyes to He who started good work in you for He is faithful. Understand and interpret the seasons, you will stand.”
