Gospel singer Tamela Mann is celebrating 29 years of marriage with her husband, David Mann.
The couple on Monday took to social media a video of their heartwarming celebration, dancing in their kitchen with the caption “29 years down and forever to go.”
The couple were legally wed in 1988 but never had a traditional ceremony. In 2013, they renewed their vows to commemorate 25 years of marriage having raised 5 children together.
“When we got married 25 years ago, we didn’t have enough money for a wedding,” explained Tamela, whose pastor married the couple in his study. At the time, the singer/actress even had to borrow a ring.
The last 6 years have been remarkable for Tamela, as her album, Best Days once topped the Billboard gospel charts, celebrating 13 nonconsecutive weeks in the #1 position.
Her chart-topping single “Take Me To The King” continues to dominate gospel radio while receiving an overwhelming response at mainstream radio, earning Mann her first Grammy nomination in 2013.
