Sometime last year, reports surfaced alleging that legendary gospel music singer Judith Babirye had quit singing upon successfully joining politics.
These claimed that the Buikwe District Woman member of parliament would not have time to record, let alone write new songs.
From the look of things, this turns out to have been false information considering the fact that she has this week released a new song, while still an active member of Parliament.
Her new single titled ‘Katonda Talimba’ has been produced from Audio 1’s Paddy Man and video released immediately by JahLive Films.
True, it has been a while since we last heard from her – much as she has occasionally appeared at different gospel events and church activities.
‘Sitarudi’ was one of the very last songs she released before the Feb 18th elections. This song was nominated and announced as the best Inspirational song 2015, during the VIGA awards ceremony in January 2016.
“What I do is more than music, it is worship. This is my life style. Giving up on music is like giving up on worship, something I definitely cannot do. God will guide my feet. He who begun this good work in me will surely bring it to accomplishment.” Judith Babirye told this website then.
Chances are high that we might even have a Judith Babirye concert very soon.
Still during the chat Ug Christian News had with her, she said that no one can write her life journey but God. “I am working and soon will be releasing my new album…; we will have a mega concert.”
