Watoto Child Care Ministries has expressed gratitude to multitudes across the world for the overwhelming support they have received to enable them rescue more vulnerable children and restore dignity to them by providing  holistically for their physical, spiritual and emotional needs.

Speaking at Watoto Church last week, Pastor Brian Abaho revealed that the Ministry was able to raise 62 billion Ugandan shillings.

“Last year alone, the finances that were given from all around the world to help us finance this great work that we’re doing; God allowed us to raise 62 billion Uganda shillings,” Pastor Brian Abaho said during ‘Watoto Sunday’.

“We ought to give thanks for that. God has exceeded every expectation. Why do I share these numbers with you? I want to encourage you friends, when God calls you, He will provide for you. You don’t have to be afraid. There are dreams that God has placed in your heart, and the day you step out in faith and obedience, you will be amazed at what God will do,” he added.

Watoto Child Care Ministries is also the organization that runs the Watoto Children’s Choir which tours internationally every year. According to Pastor Brian, Watoto aims to “raise the next generation of African leaders”.

“Today, there is more than 42,000 people around the world that sponsor the work that we do. 1500 of those sponsors come from right here in Uganda. It’s amazing what God is doing. He is not only the God of vision, He is also the God of provision,” Pastor Brian Abaho said.

The Ministry stated 1994, builds villages with schools, churches, medical centers, and homes – and populates them with new families built from vulnerable orphans and widows.

Pastor Brian Abaho also highlighted ‘Watoto Neighborhood’ that seeks to provide spiritual and life skills discipleship, functional adult literacy education, trauma rehabilitation, business skills training and ‘Keep a Girl in School’ that aims to reduce the primary school dropout rate and increase primary school exam completion among adolescent girls in Uganda.

“This is the year of ‘faith over fear’. God wants to do something through every one for you that is amazing. Let not fear hold you back. We’ve not been given the spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind, and we know that our God loves us. He has a great future for us and His perfect love casts out any fear and helps us embrace the future that He has in store for us,” Brian encouraged the Church.
