Ugandans are set to witness the first-of-its-kind Christian festival at the Uganda Museum in Kampala on 5th June 2022.
The inter-denominational, “family-friendly edutainment” festival dudded Soul Fest seeks to among others showcase outstanding musicians in the emerging genres of afro-based gospel music.
Gospel musicians and deejays expected at the festival include Holy Keane, Price Love, Ruyonga ,John Marie, Dj Nimso, Dj Victor and Urban Dj among others.
The artists will perform live between performances by the DJs.
“This is where the elders, youth, and children can get together for entertainment, networking, and learning from partners and institutions that will have stalls at the event for display and information sharing,” the organiser told members of the press at National Theatre in Kampala last month.
Soulfest aims to establish “Acts of Love Ambassadors” as a platform for spreading good deeds and a reminder to continue showcasing them across all communities all the time.
It will also help the attendees explore what a relationship with Jesus would look like, according to the organisers.
“Soulfest is looking at a corporation that will relate to the public with a great aspiration of good deeds while appreciating efforts and recognizing those that are trying to make a difference in their communities, place of work, and neighbourhood,” the organiser said.
Adding: “We believe there is a target group that relates to clean entertainment, wants to showcase their talents, be inspired, and needs to have great pastime activity. SoulFest is set to take place twice a year, an opportunity for families to enjoy clean entertainment and service providers to interact directly with clients and prospect.
Festival coincides with World Environment Day
Soul Fest will take place as many mark World Environment Day, which was initiated by the United Nations to encourage worldwide awareness and action to protect the environment.
“We acknowledge the power of communication to bring positive change to our environment and community, and this being World Environment Day, we would like to welcome the participation of organizations that support environmental activities and climate change to share information about the importance of environmental conservation,” Soul Fest organisers said.
The tickets for the first edition are available at National theatre, Power 104.1 FM Offices, Sinapi offices in Ntinda or online through Flexipay by dialing *291# . Tickets are Ush30,000 at the door and Ush20,000 for early bird tickets
Children below 10 years will enter for free as so long as they walk in with their parents.
