God made man and woman to complement each other. He built into our being a desire for the companionship of a husband or wife. That’s why the Bible says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord” (Proverbs 18:22).

Joshua Senyonga, a preacher, and son of well-known Ugandan Pastor Jackson Senyonga is set to marry his longtime fiancée Joan at Christian Life Church –Bwaise, Kampala, this weekend.

Joshua, in the company of his family, visited the parents of his wife-to-be in a delightful Kukyala ceremony on 23rd April 2021. The duo also recently announced their introduction ceremony, essentially an engagement party, where the two families meet and formally agree to the future marriage of the bride and groom.

“August 21st my son is getting married to his beautiful bride. It would be my honor to invite you to join us virtually as we celebrate this Holy Matrimony,” Pastor Jackson Senyonga wrote on his Facebook page.

The Top TV proprietor explained that the ceremony will be broadcasted live, beginning 8am (EAT), on all ministry affiliated platforms.

A Marriage Meditation: The Lord is Your Strength

In his recent sermon at Christian Life Church, Joshua Senyonga explained that when challenges arise in various areas of life, including marriage, Christians tend to think they can handle everything on our own. But just like warriors on a battlefield need support from their allies, he revealed how husbands and wives need help from the Lord.

“Strength is only seen when it is required,” he said. “We ask God for strength, but sometimes God does not give us strength, He gives us the opportunity to be strong, opportunity to flex up a muscle.” “Some of you are looking at [what you are experiencing] as a trial, but it should be looked at as an opportunity to see how strong you are,” he added.

Quoting Ephesians 6:10, Joshua urged that some Christians feel so overwhelmed they have a hard time thinking about how to seek strength from the Lord.

“When the commandment is to be strong, we have to understand that our strength does not come from us.” He explained. “Our Strength comes in us trusting God. Be strong in the Lord. Be strong in what He promised you,

“Whatever is going on in your life, the requirement is for you to be strong in the Lord. The second you start to depend on your self, that is when weakness enters in. The second you start to lean on your own understanding, that is when weakness starts to penetrate and enter in.”

“Yes we have to stand up, but what makes us stand up is the power that God puts in us. It is not what we do, or have achieved. It is what God does in us, that enables us to stand. If you are not in God, then how can you be strong in Him? I have seen some times of trial, confusion – times when situations were bad, but God said be strong. I have seen people who have God, and people who do not have God; and there is a difference – especially when they go through trials. Those who are truly in God, have a sense of confidence about what they do. They know that everything is going to be okay. All things work together (Romans 8:28.),” he stated.
