Preparations are in high gear for a crusade and official launch of a faith-based radio station expected to play a vital role in reaching households in Masaka with the message of salvation.
This initiative will be spearheaded by Pastor Tom Mugerwa, the founder of Mutundwe Christian Fellowship (MCF) on 13-14 April at Masaka Liberation Grounds.
In a statement on Monday the Church revealed that the radio station in Masaka will be an extension of MCF radio which is broadcasting in several regions across the country.
Currently in the UK where he is a guest preacher at a Conference that started March, Pastor Tom Mugerwa received a calling from God to start a fellowship ministry in 1990 when he was living in London as a migrant worker. “God asked me to go back home in Uganda to build Him an army that will fight the battles during the end time periods,” he said earlier.
During that time, his wife, Justine, had opened up their house for home cell meetings every Friday with five other members.
Upon return, Pr Mugerwa shared his experience with God together with the cell members at home and was later picked on to become the head of the home-cell meetings.
“Go blessed the home-cell ministry as members grew in number to a point that the house was too small to accommodate them. What was only Friday weekly day meetings surpassed to include Wednesdays, and adding on overnights. This set a great momentum where many people joined the home cell, including both Christians and new converts,”
This later led to the birth of Mutundwe Christian Fellowship, and the affiliated radio channel.
