Pastor Anne Emojong of Embassy of God Ministries has encouraged Christians to engage the spirit realm, adding that spiritual warfare is every bit as real as it was during the birth of Jesus Christ.
Speaking during the Super Woman’s Conference held on 7th March, 2020 under the theme ‘Your Appointed Time,’ the preacher explained how certain events that occurs in the visible, physical world are directly connected to the wrestling match being waged in the invisible, spiritual world.
“There are battles going on in your family, but you have to get to the spiritual realm to understand them,” Pastor Anne Emojong said. “As women, our weapons of warfare are not canal.”
According to Pastor Anne, many Christians tend to see their problems and struggles in non-spiritual terms. And because of that, they ignore spirit-led practices like prayer, fasting, and seek non-spiritual solutions.
In Luke 2:1-20, the bible reveals how in the days when Herod was king of Judea, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth in Galilee to announce to a virgin named Mary, who was betrothed to a man named Joseph, that a child would be born to her and she was to name him Jesus, for he would be the son of God.
Later, the angel of the LORD also appeared to Joseph after Jesus had been born. He warned Joseph that Herod was about to kill the child.
“One might think this was a small battle,” Pastor Anne Emojong explained. “But imagine why King Herod was so determined to look for the baby, moreover born in the manger. Something was fighting behind the scene.”
The preacher also explained that there is something significant about the angle of the Lord telling Joseph and Mary to take the new born child, Jesus, and flee into Egypt of all places.
“Sometimes, we need to escape to the desert. That desert represents a place of prayer and fasting. That place where you say no to food and water, until you bring forth what God wants you to bring forth,” she said. “You need to declare that your miracle will live and not be defiled by the enemy.”
To help congregants vividly understand what transpired in the spiritual realm during Jesus’ birth, Pastor Anne Emojong quoted Revelation 12:1-6.
“A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.” And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne; Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
“Joseph and Mary, thought they were just dealing with a man, King Herod. But behind him was a great red dragon, fighting the child,” Pastor Anne said.
“Some challenges in your life seem to be scary. There are men and women standing in your way. You might think that you are dealing with normal men, but today, we are exposing the enemy. We are exposing the source of your trouble,” she continued.
“When Mary went to the desert, that is when the ministry of angels was released. Revelation 1:7-8; And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer,” Pastor Ann explained.
She urged the Church to declare war ‘in the enemy’s camp.’
“Have you ever been in a situation where you have given up on a miracle, but all of a sudden, it happens. And then, shortly after that, the enemy strikes,” she said. “Herod comes to have your miracle killed. It is time to wake up! Your testimony should not die prematurely. Deal with issues from the real of the spirit.”
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm.” (Ephesians 6:12 NIV).
