As Christians, we live with the mindset of eternity, but there is still a pressing and urgent need to make the most of our time here on earth.
As fleeting as things of this world are there, that doesn’t mean that time here on earth is valueless and that God doesn’t want us to make the most of it.
“The worst thing in life is not money getting away from you. It’s not people getting away from you. It’s time. Where did it go?” says Bishop Jakes.
Nowadays, people are putting so much of their time on things that do not add any value to others or to God’s kingdom. God calls us to value time and makes the best out of it.
Ephesians 5:11 says, “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.” Our time is valuable and we should use as much of it obeying God’s command to love and serve Him and others, not simply to serve our own selfish desires.
What are you doing with the time you have left here on earth? Can you truly say that you are making every effort and using every second wisely and submitting it to God for Him to use for His greater glory and for even greater influence?
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”
