KAMPALA – This week marks the 71st birthday (or rebirth) of Israel as a nation. Multitudes of Christians in Uganda gathered at Kololo airstrip on 15th May, 2019 to celebrate this achievement.
They were joined by the deputy ambassador of Israel, David Eyal who noted that “the relationship between the two nations is flourishing.”
Israel declared independence on May 14, 1948, but marks the holiday according to the Hebrew calendar.
The Chairperson Uganda Israel Parliamentary caucus, Samuel Lyomoki while speaking to local media described the Ambassador’s visit as prophetic.
“For many years there had been a big gap between Uganda and Israel. I believe that with the ongoing collaboration, God is reconciling the two nations,” Evangelist Drake Kanaabo, the Chairperson of ‘Christian for Israel in Uganda’ said.
