Pastor Diana Mwebe, wife to Pastor Gerald Mwebe of Streams of Life Ministries – Uganda, believes it is high time the body of Christ in Uganda made a deliberate effort to take the gospel to the community.
She believes that moving outside the four (4) walls of the Church provides an opportunity to share the Gospel with a broad audience.
Last year alone, Diana Mwebe together with her team at Streams of Life Ministries were able to reach out to over quarter million souls. With the new year, they are intensifying the campaign.
“Over quarter million souls confessed Christ in 2023, under Streams of life. 2024, we are aiming higher by God’s Grace – at least three quarters of a million,” she said in an update on Jan. 4th 2024.
The world population is approximately 7.75 billion people, and over 3 billion of those people—about 40%—are considered unevangelized. This is according to recent findings by Joshua Project, an evangelical Christian organization, which seeks to coordinate the work of missionary organizations to track the ethnic groups of the world with the fewest followers of evangelical Christianity.
In fulfilling the great commission, Pastor Diana Mwebe believes preachers should seek to draw people’s attention to Jesus, and not call attention to themselves.
“Man and woman of God in ministry, let’s keep the main point as the main point – JESUS,” she said. “Everyone needs a chance to hear the gospel”
In 2021, Pastor Gerald Mwebe and his wife set out to win over 5,000 souls for Christ as a way of thanking God for their 25th wedding anniversary, despite the prevailing challenges instigated by COVID-19 at the time.
“Hell is real. If you are a believer and you know of someone who is not saved, take it upon you to preach to them because there is hell. We read of a rich man in Luke 16:24 who cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’
“The rich man also pleaded that a preacher should be sent to his brethren who were still alive but Abraham told him they already have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them. That is why the biggest thing that can happen to any group are preachers. Think about Jesus, he came as a man, he should have chosen to become a lawyer or professor, but he chose to be a preacher,” Pastor Gerald Mwebe said in a recent article published by this website.
