Pastor Joseph Nyanzi of Excellent City Church located in Nansana lost consciousness, and was rushed to hospital (J&J Medical Centre Nansana) when he found out that Police had arrested fellow Pastor Godfrey Kizza in regard to a fire that lead to the death of Grace Nabuule.
Pastor Godfrey Kizza of Nansana Worship Centre was arrested by Police last week at his Church and taken to Kawempe police for interrogation. The authorities claimed that he had information regarding the fire that burnt down Pr Nyanzi’s house.
The late Nabuule, wife to Pr Nyanzi, was burnt in this house fire on May 10, 2016, and died at Mulago on May 17, 2016. This happened a month after Pr Nyanzi had married Nabuule at Miracle Center Cathedral Lubaga.
News of Nabuule’s death left Nansana and its surrounding villages paralyzed in shock. Many believers and Pastors – including Robert Kayanja, Imelda Namutebi, David Bweyinde, Wilson Bugembe came to the comfort of the preacher following this tragedy.
“Pastor Joseph Nyanzi is my brother and friend, he is part of our worship night committee. I met Grace a few months back. One month ago they got married , its a pity she passed away. Someone intentionally started the fire when she was in her house.” Pr Bugembe said, following the deceased burial.
Police sources say that Pr Kizza is linked to this murder because his car, Noah Voxy, Silver grey with licence number plate UAW 689W was used by the killer only identified as Patrick – He was hired to go and start the fire on Nyanzi’s house. The intention was to burn the preacher however, he was not home.
It is reported that Pr Kizza was at conflict with Pastor Nyanzi and, that both have their Churches in Nansana close to each other, although Nyanzi was the first to settle in this area.
“Kizza waged wars of aggression and confrontation warning that he would hurt he. I was surprised when he was arrested in regard to the fire that burnt my wife in the house.” Nyanzi told journalists when asked to comment on Kizza’s arrest.
Kizza’s murder court case, registered to file number SD 92/13/05/2016 at Kawempe police, awaits police authorities that include Ronald Ayebazibwe, Mark Muhumuza and afande Tibesasira. The Flying Squard is on with hunting down other people who were involved in this murder.
Police was forced to additionally arrest one of Pr Kizza’s aide, who caused chaos when he blocked off the Police car that was transporting the pastor to Kawempe.
Alleged murderer Patrick who was a Crime Preventer at Nansana Police, escaped from the country to Turkey, where he is hiding, and that it is here where he sent a message pinning Kizza.
Patrick says that he received the order of putting up a fire on Nyanzi’s house from Pr Kizza.
