American gospel singer Ty Morris headlined a benefit concert at Worship Harvest Church – Naalya on Sunday.

The concert, whose proceeds went towards Harmony life International, attracted believers from central district Kampala and Naalya, a township in Kira Municipality.

Only taking a 5-minute or so break in between the 2+ hour show, Ty Morris was full of energy, totally interactive and completely reminiscent.

You never realize how uplifting gospel music is until you attend a concert and sing one amazing song after the other.

Ty shared his testimony, walking to the audience section so as to lead them through ‘teasing and humorous’ dance strokes.

He said it took God for him to overcome limits of negative labels, in which he was referred to as one mentally retarded.

“I used to be one of those that say God can’t use me, I had nothing to give Him. I believe what they had said about me. However, I heard to listen to the voice of God – He said; Go! ”

“Those that called me retarded had to eat up their words. Today I am an educator.” Ty said, adding that he has traveled several nations across the continent sharing the good news.

He told the congregation that he grew up from one of the most dangerous states in the USA.

“What you see on Facebook, the internet, its real. I had to run home sometime, coz people was chasing me, for real. But being here today, I just cannot help but give God my full praise.”

“1st Corinthians 13 sums up our vision.” Jeff and Anne Dean, the team leaders at Harmony Life International said during their speech where they appreciated Worship Harvest Church Pastors, Emiziki Band and everyone that turned up to support the cause.

Founded in 2015, the NGO is dedicated to transforming lives through God’s word, the Arts, and Education.

Anne has worked in the non-profit sector for over 20 years and has volunteered extensively in Uganda since 2007, administering many programs and projects for other charitable organizations.

The event modulated by Esther Obua saw Pastor, song writer and Worship leader Brian Lubega, Andrea Presson and Lyrical Micheal among others.
