The senior Pastor of Streams of Life Church, Gerald Mwebe, and his wife Diana, have reported 5,265 salvation decisions in Uganda. The born-again Christian couple this month intensified their gospel outreach programmes across the country despite the prevailing challenges instigated by COVID-19, a way of thanking God for their 25th wedding anniversary.
“As we celebrate God’s goodness to us for the last 25 years of a good, happy, amazing marriage so far, the best thing we can give Him is souls, souls and more souls,” Pastor Diana explained 17 August.
Pastor Diana stated that from 1st to 16th August, 2021 the ministry sent out teams to Jinja, Kyengera , Wakaliga and Zanzibar where 5,265 souls were won for Christ. Additionally, they started many missional families to disciple the new converts.
The ministry’s target is to see 25,000 souls come to Christ before the end of August 2021.
“Teams from different Streams of Life & Nations Church Plants, discipleship families and the Harpazo team have been and are still going out to harvest souls in fulfilling our parents desire of winning 25,000 souls in the month of August.”
Pastor Gerald and his wife Diana exchanged their wedding vows in the ’90s. When it comes to marriage, Pastor Gerald believes that choosing who you will be spending the rest of your life with is one of the most important aspects you should not negate.
In his recent sermon labelled “Mentorship – Choosing Who To Marry”, the preacher observed that the person you choose to spend the rest of your life with will determine a lot of your other decisions in life.
“Who you marry will determine a lot of things in your life forever,” Pastor Gerald said. “In fact, apart from your salvation, and your calling, the next major decision you make is who to marry.”
“Just like you get serious about your education, your career, your investment, in the same way you should also be serious or even much more about choosing who to marry,” he sad. “Invest time to learn, to consult, to get counsel and also to pray about it.”
It is believed that every one who intends to get married has a list of things they would want in a spouse – consciously or subconsciously.
For Pastor Gerald, one’s foundation which includes a vision for life essentially matters.
“If you go looking for a life partner before you even know what you want in your life, chances are you won’t get it right,” he said. Adding: “I know many young people haven’t quite figured out what they want in their – this is why you need a mentor.”
No matter what marital season you’re in, Pastor Gerald’s encouragement is to consider the benefits of having a mentor, and to begin praying for God to bring the right individuals into your life who can come alongside you and your spouse.
“Don’t ever feel to proud to follow the leading of someone. You have probably heard of people who say for them they are “self-made”. That’s just pride. First of all we know that all we are is because of God and the people He has placed in our lives. Pride goes before destruction,” he said.
