Opposition and Women rights activist Ingrid Turinawe has responded to the Easter Speech by Archbishop Stanley Ntagali in which he congratulated president Museveni upon the 18th February presidential elections victory.

“I would like to congratulate His Excellency, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, upon his victory in the recent presidential elections, and I send him, Mama Janet, and their entire family special greetings this Easter. I also send special greetings to all the other Presidential candidates who campaigned so well,” stated the Archbishop giving his speech earlier this week.

Much as the Bishop centered his speech more on Jesus, this concluding remarks have raised controversy among the opposition who with the ongoing elections petition asserting rigged votes, find it odd that the Archbishop had to congratulate the President.

Ingrid took to facebook yesterday saying that she is going to boycott Easter prayers.

“His Grace my archbishop Stanley Ntagali the Shepherd to all of us his sheep. I resolve: This Easter, I will not go to church. I will pray to my God from home, I will not send any Easter offertory to my church… in fact I will not even return the offertory envelope,”

Turinawe joins several citizens that have since the press meeting with Archbishop Stanley expressed disapproval.
