Mrs Julianne Susanne Otim (PhD), a senior lecturer at Makerere University and wife to Pastor Arthur Otim of Miracle Center Seeta Church is set to launch a new book titled ‘SHero by Grace’ this Thursday (28th November, 2019) at Makerere University College of Computing conference hall in Kampala.
The book seeks to encourage women to be courageous, follow their dreams, work hard, overcome any obstacles and be the best where God places them, Mrs Julianne Susanne Otim says.
Targeting young women between 16 to 30 years, the new book also highlights some supporting actions from men that contribute towards women reaching their God-given potential.
‘SHero by Grace’ has been endorsed by several leaders in Uganda including Pastor Jessica Kayanja of Miracle Centre Cathedral – Rubaga.
Pastor Jessica said Julianne’s life journey is a story of transforming Grace that “turns impossibilities into possibilities and reveals precious gems that can only be found by daring to dig far into the dirt.”
“I recommend this book for every one struggling to make sense of their God given purpose,” Pastor Jessica Kayanja said.
The book launch is expected to kick off at 6pm, and entrance is Ugx 50,000.
Julianne Susanne Otim (PhD) is a senior lecturer in Computer Networks. She teaches, undertakes research and consultancy related to applying Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to different development contexts.
Julianne has published widely with over 30 research articles and has supervised over 20 graduate students.
She also serves on several boards including that of Research and Education Network for Uganda (RENU) and the UbuntuNet Alliance.
Harriet Ociti, the Executive Director, Institute for National Transformation shared her views about the new book saying Julianne’s life story is written in a style that anyone can identify with.
“Every single one of us by God’s grace can be a SHero / Hero,” Ms Ociti remarked.
On the same note, Eunice Adubango (PhD), Managing Partner, Eunie’s Kitchen said the book will “encourage the young to dream, husbands to support their wives and women to live to their full potential.”
“Reading SHero by grace is akin to sitting in Susanne and her lovely husband Arthur’s living room to listen to the story of a woman shaped by life’s thrills and pains. The sense every reader will get from reading this book is, “with God all things are possible!” Yes we can dare to dream and if we put God at the center of our dreams, he will bring them to pass,” she noted.
