Namirembe Christian Fellowship (NCF) on Friday denied “troubling” reports surrounding its founding Pastor, Prof. Simeon Kayiwa.
In a statement, the Ministry stated that “he is a lot better” and that “your prayers are still needed.”
“This is to inform you, disregard any information about Prof Simeon Kayiwa being in ICU. Apparently he is a lot better, your prayers are still needed but he is getting better everyday and he just needs rest,” the statement reads.
Notably, the Ministry did not disclose the Professor’s illness, if any.
Social media was earlier awash with reports that the Church leader is in ICU on life support machines, with one alleging the government should make efforts to airlift him to South Africa for better medical attention.
Known as one of the founding fathers of the pentecostal movement in Uganda, Prof. Simeon Kayiwa started ministry during the civil unrest that followed the overthrow of Idi Amin.
“When I began to work for the Lord ,I started in great fear and trembling. I would shake like a leaf .But as time went on and I saw the many miracles that God was doing I became more confident that Jesus was with me. In fact, I became very firm and inwardly brave.”
Prof. Kayiwa is Chancellor, Kayiwa International University, and last month celebrated 40 years of marriage with his wife Celia Kayiwa.
