2017 NBA Champion, JaVale McGee of the Golden State Warriors was in Uganda last week for a day.
He during the private visit to a primary school initially taking care of about 500 less privileged Children in Matuga, Wakiso district met two of Praise Ministries – Kampala founding pastors, Godfrey and Edith Kamese.
JaVale, who is 7 ft o in, arrived with a crew of four (4) that observed the property currently being developed into a ministry centre. He said he will come again publicly with other NBA stars, Dr Godfrey Kamese told congregants at Praise Cathedral – Ntinda on Sunday.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) reported recently that through a charitable endeavor, McGee was planning to travel to help build water wells in villages in Uganda.
This was reported when McGee began promoting #JUGLIFE as a healthy lifestyle built around the idea of drinking a gallon of water each day. His campaign began on Twitter and Instagram and blossomed from there.
The #JUGLIFE website now sells clothing and other items, with the proceeds going to charity.
