Once again, Nancy Kacungira makes Uganda proud

On August 17 2015, BBC congratulated former NTV Uganda news anchor, now with KTN news, Nancy Kacungira for having won the first BBC World News Komla Dumor award, beating almost 200 other applicants.
 The award was established to honor Komla Dumor, a Ghanian presenter for BBC World News, who died suddenly aged 41.

Currently, the applauded moderator of Uganda’s first presidential debate that took place in January 15 at Kampala Serena Hotel, has yet again been honored at the prestigious Women4africa international awards.

She has been announced as the ‘International African Woman’ of the year 2016.

Women4africa is a UK registered organisation focused on celebrating and empowering Africa and its women by supporting and celebrating their role in their communities via Conferences, supporting education and Awarding prestigious awards, recognition and special honors to such women identified and nominated by the public.

 

Several other personalities were nominated  under International Community Recognition, Fashion Designer of the Year, Motivational Speaker, Young Achiever, Events Organiser, Make-Up Artist, Outstanding Mother of the Year with all nominees from the African continent among others.

ABOUT  NANCY

Nancy, who was born in Uganda, joined KTN in Kenya in 2013 as an anchor for prime time news and has reported from Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. She also produces and presents a weekly segment that tells the inspirational stories of people working to better their local communities, and is KTN’s Social Media Editor. Prior to joining KTN, Nancy presented for Power FM in Kampala, and has also worked in digital marketing.
