Award winning Journalist Nancy Kacungira formerly of KTN Prime time announced this week that she has joined BBC – Africa as a News Anchor.
The 31-year-old started out as a radio Presenter on Christian station, Power 104.1 FM before transitioning to TV at NTV Uganda.
Sharing her landmark achievement on Wednesday, the Tanzanian-born Ugandan said; “I’ve made the big move and started a new role with the BBC based in London. I’m excited about this amazing journey God is taking me on, for His glory.”
She has once again taken to social media on Thursday revealing that there is a purpose to every blessing from God.
“God never just blesses you for you, but for other people too,” Nancy stated, noting that it’s always up to one to build not just a narrative but a reality of excellence about Africa and Africans.
“When God elevates you to a new level don’t just stop at saying thank you – also ask what He wants you to do with it. ” She said. “I work extra hard because I want to do my part to prepare the way for the young Africans who will come after me, and go much further than me.”
Nancy evoked the biblical allusion in Matthew 5:15, which teaches that God gives to one of us so that we will give to others. He shows himself to one of us so that we might show Him to others. He teaches us a lesson so that we might teach others.
On August 17 2015, the BBC congratulated Kacungira for having won the first BBC World News Komla Dumor award, beating almost 200 other applicants
The proceeding year, she was commend for moderating Uganda’s first presidential debate that took place in January 15, 2016 at Kampala Serena Hotel and later announced ‘International African Woman’ of the year 2016 during the prestigious Women4africa International Awards.
