Together with the First Lady, President Yoweri K Museveni attended an overnight service at Miracle Centre, Rubaga on Friday night.

The Church kicked off this particular over night by singing the national and East African anthem amid heavy security deployment in the area.

In his remarks released Saturday in regard to the visit, President Museveni thanked Pastor Robert and Jessica Kayanja for inviting his family to the revival meeting.

He added on to say that Religious leaders should teach people to believe in science and reject superstition and witchcraft.

His statement left a few questions, as many wondered what exactly his point was when he said; ‘teach people to believe in science’?

We live in an age when many evangelical Christians are unsure where science fits. At the mention of the word science, one’s thoughts are quickly drawn to the fact that Scientism is a philosophy (really a ‘faith’) that says we should only believe what can be scientifically proven.

The scientific case against resurrection is pretty straightforward: once dead you stay dead — that’s just the way it works. Coming back to life after having been dead (I mean really dead) would constitute a violation of natural law — a miracle — and miracles just don’t happen.

The Resurrection accounts certainly speak of something outside our world of experience – a violation of natural law as understood by science.

Therefore, since you can’t easily put God under a microscope, well, He’s out?

Elsewhere, the President urged Christians not to behave like the Pharisees, “who pretended to be religious but when they left the places of worship, they actually were bad people at heart.” He said.

He also requested church leaders and Christians to join the fight against environment degradation.
