“We should worship God with our lives. We should do this in reverence and awe.”~ Pastor Kayanja.
Pastor Robert Kayanja has unveiled a podcast series, that delves deep into what worship is really about.
The founder and senior pastor of the Miracle Centre Cathedral, believes that among other things, knowing God is key to understanding effective worship.
“If you do not know who you are worshipping, then you can’t know how to worship Him,” he says, quoting 2 Chronicles 29:28.
Pastor Kayanja urges that the body of Christ, must commit to reading the Bible to understand worship, and also take lessons from Bible characters, especially King David, who wrote various of the psalms which are ascribed to him in the book of Psalms.
He urges that many young believers today have no results in their lives that reflect the power of Jesus Christ, because they have not turned to the right sources but rather “listen to everybody who goes on social media.”
“One of the problems of this generation is that we do not take instructions, we do not listen to those who have experience. We do not listen to those who have gone through the fire. We listen to everybody who goes on social media… 40 years of ministry is not a simple thing, but I am still a student. I am still a student of the experience. I am still a student of finding our solutions, because I have seen people who have fasted, prayed, repented, walked a holy life, and yet they are denied of something very small. And it is not because they lack faith, holiness or righteousness, but something is missing,” he pastor continues.
“King David of all people understood what worship is, and he tries to labor to let everybody know about worship. In Psalms 150:6, he says, “Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” King David has a reason why he is telling you that,” Pastor Kayanja explains. “He [King David] talks to us about worshipping God with our offerings, musical instruments, physical posture and in our songs. Which means, worship is not a song only. Worship is not a fast or slow song. It is everything – it is life.
Following the revelation of King David, Pastor Kayanja urges that worshipping God must be done in spirit and truth.
