A Christian fellowship with branches across various universities in Uganda that reaches out to today’s youth with the gospel is set to celebrated its 10th anniversary.

With many discipleship into great leaders, Best Friends Forever (BF2), has been bringing gospel messages to the younger generation since Nov. 2009, growing from a mere senior six Vacists’ fellowship into an independent international ministry.

Speaking to Uganda Christian News on Monday, Mr Byamukama Isaac, the BF2 coordinator said the dinner is scheduled for 9th November, 2019, at Archbishop’s palace Gardens – Namirembe in Kampala from 5pm.

Rev Medad Birungi Byayesu is expected to grace the celebration as the chief guest. Entry fee is Ush35000

“We are commemorating ten years of existence with a lot of life changing testimonies in people’s lives, and more members joining at different sects of the fellowship,” Mr Byamukama said, noting that they now have branches in major universities across Uganda including Makerere University, Kyambogo University,  MUBS and Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono.

“BF2 has grown in stature under the hand of the almighty God, and the foresight of the different relentless and boisterous selfless leaders at the different echelons of the ministry leadership structure, not forgetting the selfless members of the fellowship, and the well-wishers to the ever willing partners. All these have contributed to the blossom of BF2, from a 24-30 member group to over 400 members by 2015,” Mr Byamukama said.

He explained that young people in Uganda today, most especially in High school and at University, need to belong to a healthy Christian fellowship that will not destroy their spiritual lives.

According to Mr Byamukama, fellowship is meant to be a place that nurtures young Christians, and helps them discover their spiritual gifts and potential.

“Many Christian youths today who are in high school or college have a deep yearning for God, they are on a journey of spiritual discovery, a hunger to understand their maker,” Mr Byamukama said. “Some have found themselves in institutions where this is not easily achievable. To some, they have thrived through and have tapped into some of these experiences based on how their schools have embraced their faith – Therefore by the grace of God, In the year of our Lord 2009, around November a meeting was conveyed by youth ministers from Scripture Union Uganda, Championed by Mr. Zziwa Jude a.k.a Uncle Jude, which  kicked off the planning and strategizing for BF2 Fellowship.”

“Out of their efforts and obedience to the Lord, the first ever BF2 Fellowship which was for senior six vacists (holiday makers) occurred in January 2010 which brought at most three vacists. It is 10 years down the road right now, and we are still counting this is one of the best place and movement I can encourage many young people to be part of,” Mr Byamukama said.

At the end of this year, BF2 will organise its first ever international mission to Kenya,Kakamega County from 14th -21st December at a fee of Ush110,000.
