In what many are describing as the most amazing and powerful music event Uganda has heard since the year begun, more than six thousand youth tuned up for ‘Born Free concert,’ that featured Zambia’s top gospel artistes.
The event also brought two south African musicians and a number of Ugandan gospel singers to entertain, inspire and interact with the youth that gathered from different parts of Uganda.
Unlike what we see often, the Born Free concert kicked off with prayer where everyone at Kati Kati grounds, Lugogo joined hands to surrender the proceedings before God.
The event brought about a lot of car traffic from the heart to Kampala to Nakawa. Just about the same location was home to the ongoing 2nd anniversary Phaneroo celebrations.
With one artist on stage after the other, no one seemed to have enough of the Zambian music genre.
Not before long, the President of Uganda, Y K Museveni together with his first daughter Pr. Patience Rwabogo made a surprise appearance at the event, something unusual for Ugandan events.
He told the congregation that there is no loss in following Jesus Christ.
He warned the youth against the western propagandists who are recruiting many into Homosexuality. This he condemned urging that it is not a Christian value.
For more than 12 hours, the Lota House Live hash tag has been observed trending on twitter, as more Christians share the experience they had from the artists.
Museveni spoke of exemplarity with reference to the first daughter Pastor Patience Rwabogo.
He additionally took to social media saying: “The youth should be patriotic. I’m happy Patience and her group have provided an alternative away from destruction,”
A few days before the event, the Zambian artists had been hosted by Pastor Patience for a 3-day youth conference organised by Covenant Nations Church based in Luzira, Kampala. This conference was launched by Janet Museveni.
