UG Christian News has learnt that award winning gospel singer Levixone is in preparation for a charity concert intended to fund-rise for the feeding of several families.
The 23-year-old has made several visits to the ghetto children in Kosovo since this year begun. On all occasions, caring along food, scholastic materials and other basic necessities for the needy families.
Growing up in the ghetto is not a choice that he made. However, letting go of this past to pursue his dream, inspire his fellows is a choice that he took on.
Breakout single Noonya Omu, which he says is his testimony, depicts a selfless longing for God at a time when he faced a lot of challenges in the slams of Kosovo-Lungujja Kampala.
“I wrote this song after being dropped by a man I thought was my father. He told me that he was not my daddy which was true after I got to know the story. I was left with no one to call father apart from God the father who is the father to the fatherless and a mother to the motherless.” He recently explained.
That’s when he met a friend called Trinity Emmanuel, with whom they came up with an idea of giving back from the little they have achieved. Their union gave birth to a charity organization called ’92 Hands’.
Last year, they reached out to the families under the theme “Kosovo Challenge For Christmas” where they fed over 1000.
This year’s live musical concert will take place on 30th/Oct/2016 at Royal Suites Bugolobi, entrance 50,000 and 100,000/= ugx for VIP, 20,000/= ugx for students with valid IDs.
The singer says that what the families here need is what to eat, dress and where to stay.
“Much of my music is a life testimony to the youth and I think every situation I have passed through some youth are facing. I make sure my music is my gospel to them,” he says.
