Renown USA Pastor John Hagee, an outspoken opponent of abortion rights, has officially dedicated a new state-of-the-art facility to expectant mothers in crisis so that they and their children can have a safe space to build a “strong foundation for a fulfilling life.”
The dedication comes just over a year after JHM first broke ground on the facility.
The event began March 9 with a 5k run, hosted by Cornerstone Church, which raised funds for the facility. More than 400 people took part in the race. The following day, JHM held the formal dedication of the facility, which will open in May.
The ministry says building such a facility has been a lifelong dream for Pastor John Hagee, to provide a home and shelter for unwed mothers and their children.
Hagee spent time working at an orphanage during his formative years.
“We needed to create an alternative that enables individuals that not only gives their child a life sentence but find a meaningful solution and opportunity in a difficult time of life.
“Christians are mandated to help their neighbors in need; the Sanctuary of Hope will do just that by providing women in crisis with an opportunity to build prosperous, loving lives,” Hagee said.
Initially, the main facility, designed by architect Dan Wigodsky, will house 24 expectant mothers and 24 additional mothers with their newborn children. In the long-term, additional facilities on the 85 acre campus will be home to a total of 300 residents at any given time.
Even if a mother decides not to keep her child, the ministry will raise that child and give them a full education.
SOH residents will receive on-site medical care, parental training, counseling, educational opportunities, and job placement assistance, among other services, free of charge.
“Though a vital part of the services we offer, the Sanctuary of Hope is about more than just caring for a pregnant woman in crisis, it’s about helping her in every aspect of her life, and helping her child in every aspect of their life,” added Pastor Matt Hagee, Executive Pastor of Cornerstone Church.
The ministry says the ‘Sanctuary of Hope’ will be a home for unwed expectant mothers in need, which will provide them a real choice to bring their children into this world with the knowledge that they will have critical and comprehensive assistance in building healthy, loving and fulfilling lives.
