Certain ministers of the gospel usually expect benefits for performing a miracles. Few of them tell you the amount to pay before performing the miracle. Some tell you indirectly; bless your pastor and the miracle will be permanent.
On the other hand, someone may be thinking “Isn’t it God that invented religion!” Col Shaban Bantariza says, God invented Man and Woman who invented religion.
Col Shaban, the deputy Executive Director Uganda Media Centre has authored an article on faith, that was published by the observer yesterday.
In the article, the retired colonel addressed a number of issues, emphasizes that Jesus Christ did not leave any religion on earth in his name and that he did not register any religion or organization.
“He was circumcised, but not a Muslim, just like all Jews. So, Roman Catholics, Anglican Protestants, Presbyterians, American Pentecostals and all these religious factions have taken over what Jesus Christ firmly left for not only his apostles and disciples, but all humanity – faith,”
Col Shaban says that there are some corrupt religious leaders called the Pharisees who have taken the word of God passed down from Moses and the prophets to selfish interests.
“Jesus Christ performed miracles to strengthen the wavering faith of his disciples and believers. Today, miracles are a business. Leaders in our various churches, electronic and street preachers all promise miracles, but at a fee!”
He further saying that for today’s Pharisees, Jesus’ return will be harsher.
“…the Christ that rebuked Pharisees and called them vipers and hypocrites for fasting as a show to impress comes, you can be sure he will be harsher,”
“All this could be okay in the propagation of faith, but Christ told his disciples to beware because even the devil can make miracles and claim to be making them in Christ’s name! Have you heard of the upsurge of cults, including the so-called Illuminati? Have you heard about unending denominations, each fighting the other, competing for followers?”
God created Man for the express purpose of mutual relationship with him, but gave Man the power of choice and free will. Man chose to break that relationship and has been trying to find his own way by inventing religions and cults of all kinds in an effort to replace that void left by lack of relationship with his Creator.
The retired Colonel concluded his message saying, “I am not worthy to say what I have stated above, but with faith and hope, forgive me for asking us all not to kill in the name of God. The Almighty has capacity to do it, if He so wished. Blessings!”

About Col Shaban Bantariza
President Yoweri Museveni re-appointed Col Shaban Bantariza as Deputy Executive Director Uganda Media Centre, a few months after he had retired from Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF).
His appointment came as a surprise because it was just about the same time when he had been had been arrested, charged and remanded over fraud-related offences while still the Director of National Leadership Institute (NALI).
He had been charged with seven offences which included misappropriation of resources, forgery, conspiracy to defraud, ill treatment of subordinates and misconduct.
However, the General Court Martial chaired by Maj Gen Levi Karuhanga later acquitted Col Bantariza on grounds that prosecution failed to prove a case against him.
Col Bantariza accused the former Chief of Defense Forces (CDF), the late Gen. Aronda Nyakairima, of masterminding his arrest and prosecution because of the trust President Yoweri Museveni has in him.
