American televangelist and author Kenneth Max Copeland, has said he does not agree with how presumptive President-elect of the United States Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris handle political decisions, but that he prays for them and loves them.
Joe Biden was on 8 Nov. declared President-elect of the United States by multiple media networks, after crossing the winning threshold of 270 Electoral College votes.
“In the book of Matthew, Jesus said ‘Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, all thy soul and all thy mind’ and I do. This is the first and greatest command and the second is likened to it, ‘thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.’ On these two commandments hang all of the law and the prophets. I pray that everyday and I pray that every night and I mean it. I prayed for that until this morning. For Joe Biden, Kamala Harris,” the Trump-supporting televangelist said.
“I don’t agree with their politics, but I love them. And in my expression of how the joy of the Lord is our strength which I was studying right here today in the book of Nehemiah in a different translation. Anyway, Nehemiah 18, ‘The Joy of the Lord is your strength.’,” he added.
“For those that might have the idea that I hate Joe Biden, I don’t. I love him. Like I said, I prayed today for those two. And I want you to know that should it be necessary, I apologise if that came across that way,” Copeland said.
Mr Copeland prior to the election called believers to join Kenneth Copeland Ministries in praying strategically for the country. He asked believers to consider five strategic prayer points for the nation.
Therein, Copeland pointed to Proverb 6:17 and urged believers to “expose and hold accountable those who practices the seven things God hates and He says are detestable to him.”
ChristianHeadlines.com reports that while the results of the 2020 presidential election are yet to be officially determined, Joe Biden is already seeking to reverse Trump’s pro-life policies if he takes office in January 2021.
Life News also reports that Biden’s team has revealed a list of “Early Executive Actions” as part of the Biden Administration’s agenda.
The document states under the Health Care section that Biden will “reverse Trump actions on abortion and reproductive health care, including reversing the Mexico City Policy, restoring funding to Planned Parenthood and contraceptive coverage under the ACA.”
Biden also told the Philadelphia Gay News he would reverse some religious liberty protections the Trump administration implemented.
“Trump has deliberately tried to gut protections for the LGBTQ+ community by creating broad religious exemptions to existing nondiscrimination laws and policies that allow businesses, medical providers, and adoption agencies to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people,” Biden said. “We need to root out discrimination in our laws, institutions, and public spaces. Religion should not be used as a license to discriminate, and as president I will oppose legislation to deny LGBTQ+ equal treatment in public places. I will immediately reverse discriminatory practices that Trump put in place and work to advance the rights of LGBTQ+ people widely.”
“God is still in control after election results”
Paula White-Cain, friend and spiritual adviser to President Trump, tweeted after the election: “Believe that God has something better that you can’t fully see right now!”
“If he were alive today, Billy Graham would encourage Americans everywhere to pray for the future of our nation and the political direction that could come,” Franklin Graham, son of the late Billy Graham said.
Robert Jeffress, the senior pastor of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, and a spiritual adviser to President Trump also responded to the election results.
“Human governments and rulers change at God’s direction and design. Our faith and our salvation lie not in any human ruler, but in the ruler of rulers, the King of kings…” he said. “The One who occupies the throne of Heaven hasn’t changed. The fact that God has established authorities means that by obeying the government, we obey God.”
The 64-year-old reminded all Americans to pray for the next president, no matter what.
Robert believes the race is settled already, saying, “When Joe Biden becomes president, we should commend him for the things he does right. We should condemn the things he does wrong. And above all, we must pray fervently for our president,” he said..
