Have you been waiting on God far longer than you expected? Journalist Rukh-Shana Namuyimba this week took to social media to encourage believers in Christ. The established news anchor urged Christians not to “grow discouraged on account of being in captivity for too long” that they fail to listen even when God reminds them of who He is – ‘El Shaddai’.
The Lord told Moses, “Now you will see what I will do to Pharoah. When he feels the force of my strong hand, he will let the people go. Infact he will force them to leave his land.” The Lord revealed Himself as El Shaddai (God Almighty) and He had made a covenant with the people of Israel while in captivity that He would give them the land of Canaan.
And while they may have stayed in captivity longer than they should of their own volition and their groaning got worse (problems became bigger) His promises would still come to pass. But first they needed to understand ( have a revelation ) who their God was (how mighty).
For small problems, we receive small answers. The greater the problem the greater the opportunity for God to come through in a great way.
What is our response to great problems? Who do we turn to? Do we understand /perceive/ expect / wait on God with patient expectation to come through when the problems seem great? Or do we grow discouraged on account of being in captivity for too long and fail to listen even when God reminds us of who He is.
Do we truly have a revelation of who El Shaddai really is? To perceive/know/understand In spite of where you are in life, will trigger your faith in the truth that NOTHING is impossible with Him.
In Exodus 6 at the height of their oppression the children of Israel were discouraged by their state. They had been at a place of bondage and slavery for too long that even when Moses, as instructed by God, spoke to them of God’s promise to free them from oppression saying He would claim them as His own people and be their God, they listened/believed him not.
They were so discouraged they lost sight of how mighty God was. Do you often find yourself in this place where the situation in your life has left you so torn and discouraged that when God reminds you of His promises you do not listen?
Sometimes a clear message from God can be followed with a season of no apparent change. Hold fast to His promises and wait, and when you have waited, wait some more.
He is not a son of man that He should lie. He is El Shaddai – God Almighty!
