Miracle Centre Cathedral, a mega church in Kampala was over the weekend filled with praise when a woman who had been barren found out that she had finally gotten pregnant.

This lady lived with her husband for 13 years and she had bore no child.

As she narrated her former life of having the “lens” of infertility, they [with her husband] had failed to have children despite everything they tried. Last year she came to the church where Pr Robert Kayanja prayed for her and gave her anointing oil during one of the services.

She went back home and with the oil anointed her husband as well.

On Sunday, she testified holding the healthy baby girl in her hands. God did open up her womb, fulfilling his promise of fruitfulness to her .

Their baby was dedicated to the Lord during the child dedication segment of the church service where she said, “When I found out I was pregnant, I was happy but at the same time, I was observing my normal menstrual cycles.”

Let’s count ourselves as ones who have been brushed by His greatness and honored to extend His legacy.

Have you ever noticed how many barren women are in the Bible? And they all miraculously have kids. Every single one of the Patriarchs has a “barren” wife: Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, Jacob and Rachel. Later we see Manoah and his wife, Elkanah and Hannah, and finally, in the New Testament, Zechariah and Elizabeth.

We should draw hope from these stories, not because we expect a physical child—but because they show that God is always on the move with something bigger than we in our pain can see.
