KAMPALA – Prayer is a powerful part of our relationship with Jesus. Unlike anything else, it’s the best way to connect with God and share every aspect of life with Him, good or bad.
A few years ago, Grace Nakimera, a well-known Ugandan musician who recently left secular music to follow Christ, got sick and every doctor who checked her failed to find a diagnosis.
Nakimera revealed during an exclusive interview with media reporters this week that medics failed to trace what was wrong with her in that some started assuming she was probably anxious or depressed: “It was not the case,” she said.
As she battled the ‘unknown’ sickness, Grace Nakimera realized that her family life, music and finances where also breaking down at the same time.
“This thing was attacking, paralysing and taking control of my body. I could neither see nor hear it, however, could feel its evil presence, ready to get to me,” she narrated the ordeal.
Grace Nakimera explained during the interview that the spiritual attacks were instigated by some “unscrupulous individuals” because she was competition in the music industry.
It was during this dark season in life that Nakimera decided to seek help from God.
“I remember praying to God crying out to Him that if He saved me, I was going to serve Him. I was not ready to die just yet,” she said.
According to the Daily Monitor, seeking God during that time made Nakimera do a lot of reflection on her faith.
“I knew deep down in my heart that I had not gone to church for a while or done anything Godly in a long time. This were things I was now willing to change about myself,” she said.
Nakimera explained with persistent prayer, God finally came through for her.
“I called upon his name and began feeling better,” she said.
Pastor Tom Mugerwa of Mutundwe Christian Fellowship Church was also very instrumental in helping Nakimera restore her faith in God. And today, Nakimera says she is a proud Born Again Christian who gave her life to Christ, the interview revealed.
“It’s been two years now since I made the commitment. I read the Word often and go to church,” she said.
