Gospel legend Yolanda Adams has been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall Of Fame 2017.
According to Gospel Music Association, which created the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1971, Adams, a Houston native, still wows audiences around the world ever since her 1988 debut album, “Just as I Am.”
She is known for pioneering modern gospel infused with soul and jazz, which led her to numerous awards, including the first American Music Award for Contemporary Gospel Music.
This year’s prestigious ceremony took place on May 9 in Nashville at Lipscomb University Allen Arena, USA.
Other than Yolanda, other inductees included award-winning CCM artist Steve Green, world-class Southern Gospel group Gold City Quartet and legendary management team and founders of Reunion Records, Michael Blanton and Dan Harrell.

How it is done
Nominees are chosen by GMA’s Hall Of Fame Committee which is comprised of historians & industry leaders from the various gospel music genres. Inductees are selected by 200 electors from across the industry in four categories: CCM, Gospel, Southern Gospel and Non-Performing. Nominees can be submitted year-round for consideration by the public at gospelmusichalloffame.org.
