Fast rising gospel music minister, Mag Ivan has made his mark on gospel music through his very first concert in life. His exuberant energy, sense of humor, and expressiveness of joy in the Lord was on Sunday contagious around the entire crowd that gathered at Light the World Church Nansana.

As an incredibly gifted musician, he led believers through the first-of-its kind worship experience that portrayed God’s presence and excellency many seldom see at events today.

Mag Ivan, born Magembe David Ivan earlier told UG Christian News that his music is ministerial and not for fun or money.

“I just don’t write, I take time – my songs are heaven sent. I wake up and have this rhythm flowing already. When you listen to my music, it brings healing. It is not about the best of Ivan. It is a worship experience. The concert is not about coming to hear my great voice or see how I’m dressed. It’s about forgetting your problems and drawing to the Holy God with whom all things are possible.” The 27-year-old said during an interview.

The “Milele na Milele” live concert gathered several artists including Dangelo Busuulwa, Pr Wilson Bugembe, Justine Nabbosa, Brian Lubega, Twina Herbert, Patricia Mujungu, Noah Nduwayo and many more.

Ivan dropped out of school due to financial difficulties after his form 6. He then started looking for work however, the whole experience was not easy as he narrated to this website.

He was soon called to full time ministry of music as a worshiper. He has ministered with Light the World Church Nansana for about eight years now.

“I can best describe Light the World Church as water to a seed, which is the gift in my life. I at first didn’t want to do studio recording. All I wanted to do live music however,  my Pastor advised me to go ahead and produce music from studio.”

Mag Ivan today has over 7 songs to his name; These include; Kanyimbe, Milele na Milele, Healer, Who are you, We worship and A dream.

Speaking to this website father, Ivan did not forget mentioning (a one) Sylvia Namusisi who has helped him get where he is today.

“She has natured me and helped me a lot.” Ivan remarked.

“I loved music but didn’t know how to start. There was a lot of “pulling ropes” at church and my background wasn’t that appealing for one to believe that much in what I could can accomplish. She saw the gift in me. She came forth to support and lift that gift in my life. She knew my past but still came to help me.That is what I thank God for.” He said.

“She was sent as a dove to look after me. God can use anybody to attend to your issues in life. He sent helpers. This is the same encouragement I have for a Christian out there. Get your dream started and don’t give up. There is no room for going back where God has brought you from.” He added.

The most impressive side of Mag Ivan’s concert is how it revealed the transparent and honest experience of the highs and lows of following Christ Jesus. He during his speech gave honor to God for the concert and all his accomplishments.
