Ugandan champion kick-boxer Moses Golola has been nominated for the African Gospel Music Awards (AGMA) 2017. These awards are organised in USA however, recognizing, supporting and rewarding talented personalities in Africa and the Diaspora.

Golola, 36, makes an appearance on the nominee list under the ‘Exemption Talented Person of the year’ category.

Other athletes tagged to the same category include; Sir Ryan (Cameroon), Latif Madol (Rwanda) and Ap Augustus Baraza from Kenya.

This second edition of the African Gospel Music Awards will to take place on May 13th, 2017 in Mitchellville, United States.

In 2015, Golola was named Best kick boxer of the year by the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA).

According to Kawowo Magazine, many have tagged Golola the ‘godfather’ of Ugandan kick boxing for his pre and post match antics. Little wonder therefore, he is the ‘unofficial spokesperson’ of the game that was virtually unknown to many until the on start of 2010.

The awards’ host, Evangelist Hellen Nuwagaba, who also doubles as a gospel music singer, says voting is already open online.

David Keen, a Ugandan born gospel artist in the USA, who has been in the music industry for over 15 years, has been nominated in the ‘Best Male Artist of the Year’ Categoty.

For “Best Female Artist of the Year”, Suzette Sajjabi and Zion Daughter have been nominated.

‘Tewali Mbela’ hit singer Joy Tendo and Joseph Segawa are among many guest artists expected to perform at the awards ceremony.
