No soul is too far gone for God to bring back. Yet many people today believe that is exactly where they are—too far, too messed up, or too hopeless for the Lord to restore.
Speaking to multitudes in Kampala, Uganda on 17 October, Apostle Grace Lubega of Phaneroo Ministries International revealed that one of the amazing things about God is that He can make a powerful difference in one’s life regardless of their past.
According to him, such was the case with Apostle Paul, formerly known as Saul of Tarsus.
Before he was known as a tireless champion of Christianity, Apostle Grace explained that Paul was known for persecuting Christians. The Book of Acts reveals that Paul was even present at the death of the first Christian martyr—where he “approved the stoning of Stephen” (Acts 8:1).
Apostle Grace Lubega observed that it was the transforming encounter Paul had with Jesus on the road to Damascus that altered the course of his life (Acts 9), causing untold generations throughout the world to hear the gospel, and made it possible for him (Paul) to write 13 books of the New Testament.
Apostle Lubega noted that the conversion of Paul is a model of what God can do with any individual.
“Paul is proof that there is nobody God cannot use,” Apostle Grace said in his sermon titled, ‘The faithfulness of God toward a sinner.’
“In spite of the fact that he persecuted the Church, wasted it, fought men and witnessed the death of many, perhaps even killed and destroyed this and that – still the eye of God was there to set him apart for the work of the gospel,” he added.
Moving on, Apostle Grace encouraged Christians who struggle with assurance of salvation. He noted that among others, one’s salvation is strengthened through the wisdom and knowledge that they have in Christ.
“There are many people who have not had a wonderful life in the Christian faith, not because God doesn’t love them, or because His faithfulness has failed and that His promises have ceased, but because they don’t know just how much is available for them through Christ,” he said.
“Some Christians don’t know what Jesus did, and the consequence of what was done at the cross. You should never live any day, if you are a believer, worried that you’re not going to heaven. Don’t think about it. Don’t imagine it. You should never worry as a believer that you end badly,” he added.
“God promises: ‘I’m going to work through you, deal with everything that comes your way, your weaknesses will not live long. I’ll deal with them in your body. I’ll deal with the issues of your soul. I’ll deal with the weaknesses of your mind. I’ll deal with the weaknesses of your flesh. And, as long as you’re progressively walking in the truth, you will start to see your life changing.'”
Apostle Lubega quoted 1 Corinthians 1:4-7, KJV: “I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ. That in every thing ye are enriched by Him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge. Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you. So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. ”
Then Philippians 1:6 KJV which says, ‘Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
The other verse was Hebrews 12:2 KJV: ‘Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.’
“When we talk about the faithfulness of God toward you, it means that He’s equipping you in all utterance that you come short in no gift. The Grace of God operating on your life fulfills everything God has ordained you to do. But as He’s doing that, the Bible says, ‘He wants to confirm you to the end.’ God doesn’t want to use you and dump you. Our God is faithful. He wants to anoint you, establish you, work through you, quicken you, strengthen you, uphold you, do everything that must be done – and at the end, confirm you, that you might be blameless on the day of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God wants you to finish well,” Apostle Lubega explained.
