Have you ever received a message that left you in shock knowing you are absolutely powerless to help?
This is happened to me during one Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) meeting at Watoto Church – Suubi about a month and a half a go! The message read “we need a miracle, blood type 0- for Mama Edith”
For the first time my reaction was to drop everything and hold my neighbor’s hand and pray. There is power when you agree concerning a situation. What next?
After that short prayer, I got an idea about sending the same message to all the WhatsApp groups I was a part of. One of those I had joined about a week prior and was contemplating leaving! What kept me in the group I did not understand until I saw the response from a lady I call a hero!
“I am of that type. I am at work but right now getting on a boda to come donate blood” Justine, a stranger I have never met face to face was putting her work aside, her life on the line by getting on a boda just to go save a life by donating blood!
Within no time she was at Case Medcare – Kampala where mama Edith was in ICU.
Within a short time there were countless donors at the blood bank just to respond to this call and many lives were saved as a result. Got to know from a friend that he too was there to donate blood and found someone who added him onto a WhatsApp group of 0-people!
Meanwhile some people were saying the future for mama Edith did not look good! Doctors were thinking if she recovers at all it won’t be in less than three months but who really has the final word?
This Sunday as she stood to testify in church of God’s miraculous provision, Edith said God has the final word and she is a living testimony that He still answers prayers.
She ended by praising God as a thunderous applause followed because everyone at the City on the Hill kept her in their prayers!
Is there a situation in your life that looks impossible? Instead of saying “why me?” say”try me” because there is one with the final word on your side!
