Pastor Joshua Serwadda, son of renown presiding Apostle of the Born Again Faith Federation, Dr Joseph Serwadda has used a well know story about Elisha and the Widow’s Oil in 2 Kings 3-4 to teach that christian should not feel inadequate and lament, but have faith that the little they have can be used by God to accomplish His purpose and make an eternal difference in the country.
He was addressing believers at Victory Christian Centre Church – Ndeeba on Sunday.
“There are so many things that made me question my call to ministry. I wanted to understand was it because I was born to a Pastor, or was it because I was brought to church on a daily basis since childhood. I wanted to understand why God exactly called me to ministry
“Slowly, He begun to unfold it to me and I want to share this, because I know there are so many people in that field – So many people feel they have totally nothing, and cannot be of any good use, not even in the body of Christ – I believe that in everybody’s life, there is something that God can use. You may not be a great preacher, but I know for a fact there is something you are good at,” he said.
With the very little, Pastor Joshua said, God can make things happen that you could never make happen.
He taught that the widow’s miracle only came after she prepared a meal for Elijah—an act of sincere faith on her part.
“The widow knew she had nothing left – 2017 might have hit you back and forth. You have no idea of how you are going to make it through 2018, but you know there is something you can use – There was nothing left but a jar of oil for the widow and her son
“This jar of oil could be anything in our 21 century today. I don’t know if you can look at your life and see those jars of oil that are hidden. You don’t think they are of any worth. Give God your little faith, I know He will do something great out of it. You need to know that you are special in God’s sight
“Some of us feel so inadequate. You were created and equipped with everything you need to be in that position you are in. Next year is a year of you knowing that you are unique and need to make a difference in this world. You cannot make a difference when you feel you are the same as every body
“He is the same God who will use a rich man, and the same God who will use a poor man. He is the same God who will use someone so tall, and someone so short. He is the same God who works in both men and women. You simply have to literally say; this is what I have. He might not need your money, for some people, all that God needs from you is your time,” he said.
“For others, all he needs is your brain. There are some people whose brain is so elite and good at working but they don’t know,” he added.
Faith, as small as a mustered seed, can never go noticed by God, he urged.
