Lieutenant Colonel Edith Nakalema, head of the State House Anti-corruption unit told Christians at the Prayer Mountain in Seguku on Thursday that Uganda will experience deliverance once God-fearing individuals take up top positions of authority, and fully rely on their creator for guidance.
“As you pray for God to deliver Uganda, pray that He will position leaders that are right for the offices where they are; people that have their country at heart; people that care for each other, people who put God first,” the 41-year-old said in her speech.
The 3-day prayer and fasting conference running under the tag line ‘God Deliver Uganda’ started 4 July, 2019 and is expected to draw over 12 born-again Pastors from the capital Kampala and its suburbs, addressing several key issues.
These include Prof. Simeon Kayiwa, Bishop Joshua Lwere, Ap. Alex Mitala, Bishop David Livingstone Kiganda, Dr John Mulinde, Dr Micheal Kimuli, Ap Jackson Ssenyonga and others
In her submission, Lt Col Nakalema fully agreed with Pastor Laban Jjumba of the Deliverance Church Uganda who stipulated that politicians and leaders do not have solutions to problems, ‘they can only be solved by prayer and faith.’
“I have lived a life of prayer. I have lived a life of service, and I work tirelessly, because I know that greater is He that is in me, than the devil that is in the world. When I was appointed to head the anti-corruption unit in State House, I said, ‘God, I don’t have any guidelines that I know, but I know you are so great, you will use me, and the people you have put in positions, and make a great contribution, and our Church will be lifted.'”
Nakalema said.
Born of a lay leader in the Church of Uganda, Nakalema, who is now a mother of 3 (three), said God has been gracious in that as much as she attended 3rd world schools, she was able to excel in her academics, and graduate from the Higher Command and Staff Course at the Joint Services Command and Staff College, in Watchfield, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, where she had been admitted in 2017
“I am a senior presidential advisor on corruption in State House. The testimony in there is that there is no where you can study corruption, so I do not use any qualification. I use the degree of salvation. And that was a prophetic word from His Excellency the president. When he appointed me his personal assistant, he told me, ‘Nakalema, do not use your degree of accounts and logistics, use your degree of Salvation.’
“You must have seen big people taken to court recently, including managing directors of the banks, that could not have been done if God had not positioned His children in top positions,” she said.
Lt. Col. Nakalema attended the conference with Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Alice Komuhangi Khaukha.
